However, I have benefited greatly from the long drives to and from each reunion and the clarified perspective that always comes with spending time with the people you care for most.
A wise man once said that no amount of success an compensate for failure in one's home. I've always believed that statement, but I need to do a better job acting like I do.
So, in the spirit of EnablingAngels, I'm going to apply the following two principles of angel investing and entrepreneurship to my family life.
- Constant learning -- Like most of you, I spend a ton of time and money buying stacks of books and magazines that teach me about the latest trends in angel investing and entrepreneurship. If I'm serious about success in the home, I need to spend more time to reading books that will help me be a better husband and father.
- Constant networking -- I'm going to try to spend more time "networking" (playing cards, eating dinner, double-dating, etc.) with other families and learn from their mistakes and successes. The more people I know, the more likely I am to know where to turn when I am looking for a solution to a problem I face in my home.
